In Utah, miscarriage is now ILLEGAL.
“This “Criminal Miscarriage” law is unique. It doesn’t punish individuals who perform illegal procedures; it punishes women.”
I want people who make laws like this to die. I’m offering simple, honest truth – please just die. Fuck off, and die. Now, you religious right-wing fucktards not only want to take away my Right to Choose, but also if something that is outside of my bounds of control happens. Like, if it’s God’s Will, that I not be able to carry my child to term, it’s MY fault and I’m a criminal?
What happened to Judgement Day? Life and Let Live? Do Unto Others?
If – and this is a great stretch of the imagination – I were to live in such a horrifyingly backward state, and something like this should happen, I would be prepared to go down in a hail of gunfire from the cops. Because I’m not going to jail or trial based on something that I could not have prevented.
In other words, I’m going to quote Ludacris, and say “I wish a muthafucka would”.
In reading further, in the comments someone stated that this was pushed through as legislation in reaction to a situation in which a 17 year old girl paid someone to beat her so she would miscarriage.
One would think – if one used an iota of brainpower, common sense or I don’t know, some fucking compassion, maybe - that perhaps state laws could be better put to use to avoid situations like the one stated here, and in providing options that are safe, healthy and legal. When a 17 year old feels she has no legal or healthful recourse to an unwanted pregnancy other than paying someone to beat her into a miscarriage…there is something direly wrong with this country.
I would go so far as to say: This is a miscarriage of justice.

I don’t think I’ve posted many pictures of my grandmother’s stupid Italian Greyhound, mostly because she can’t sit still long enough to take a decent picture. Although, now that I think of it, I think I have one where she’s peering over the edge of my computer screen, willing me with her brainwaves to pay attention to her. I’ll see if I can scrounge that shot up.

Well, I can’t find that one, but this is my current favourite: Phoebe with the heart-shaped nose. Happy Valentine’s SNORGLE!
