words

April 28th, 2008

I haven’t written in a while.  All through training I was so beat, I couldn’t crank out a single sentence that made any sense, was fun to read, or *didn’t* involve the words “fuselage” or “safety”.

I’m getting settled in New York City.  It’s not nearly as intimidating as people make it out to be.  I’ve got stories to tell, but I’m going to eventually start at the beginning, telling what I can about training and what’s going on so far in New York and flying etc.

I’m just posting today to get re-immersed in the writing, and to share something that someone sent to my myspace inbox.  It was really lovely to read as I sit on the couch having cramps, freezing my arse off on a rainy New York City day.

“Hey! It’s been years, but we went to Olympic and Kennedy together … I’m hoping you remember me.

I hope that it’s okay that I’m contacting you. I saw a picture of you on Michelle’s page, from the beach way back when, and I was wondering if you were on here. I always wondered what you were up too.

And, I also want to thank you for something. I know it was years ago, and you may not even remember it, but I do. Grad week at the beach, you saved my butt one night, when two of my supposed best friends ran off and left me. I was wasted, couldn’t move on my own and some strange guy would have totally messed me up that night, if YOU hadn’t have come to help. I always wanted to say Thank You, and I’m glad that I have the chance. You were always so nice to everyone, and I think sometimes some of us gave you a hard time for being so perky all the time. When it was undeserved. I always admired your ability to not seem to care what people thought, and stay true to yourself. That takes guts.

So, anyway, I hope life is treating you well, and it would be nice to hear from you sometime.

( And, you look fatastic! ;0) )

Take care”
