we have a room!
Well, it’s my old room, but it’s a room. We arrived, surprisingly, on time at the Charlotte-Douglas International Airport, due to a very fun pilot (who had also arrived in Newark on time). The plane departed with less than half of the seats full due to a blizzard that caused other connecting flights to be canceled. Fine by us – we had the first seats, and a great flight attendant – and the aforementioned pilot who dropped the word ‘giggidy’ into the flight information.
Very fun.
Tired. Slept late yesterday. Up until 5 am this morning (because, really, that’s only 2am and that’s normal) and then got up at 11. Maybe that’ll help us get on east coast time.
Getting a haircut today, but only a little one!
Wow. I think I’ll continue blogging later when I’m a bit more functional. This isn’t making much sense.

I was either drunk when writing the last post (possible) or drunk when adding up the total hours we’d be traveling (again, possible). In no way – unless we were going to Bangkok or something – would a trip take 45 hours. It will take about 30 hours total, which is still not an insignificant amount of time.
We’re currently in the Seattle-Tacoma airport, after a thoroughly enjoyable train ride from Vancouver (we WILL be traveling by train again, happily!) and a fairly short but harrowing ride in the oldest, most broken down, smelly taxi that has ever wandered the earth. When Adrian got in the cab, the entire seal from the inside of the car door fell off onto him.
Ssssketchy.
Adrian is, very maturely, getting some work done on his laptop and me, I’m going to work on my screenplay. Or get some of these ideas out of my head for novels. Or maybe I’ll play everquest. Who knows.
What I DO know is that it’s 12:36am local time and we’ll be leaving on the 11am flight. That’s right – a full ten plus hours away. Holy doodle we’re going to be retarded with tired when we eventually land.

the holiday party slash white elephant party was quite nice, and a great way to say goodbye and Happy Holidays to our friends! Tomorrow, we leave the house around 2-ish to hit up another Holiday Open House and then make our way to the train station to catch a 6pm train.
Then we catch a flight out of Seattle to Charlotte with an hour and a half layover in Newark, FINALLY arriving in Charlotte at 11:03 PM – a full 45 hours after leaving home tomorrow.
Yai. Next time I won’t see “Cheapest Fare” and click ‘buy’ until I do a better job of scheduling transportation.
oops!
Happy Holidays, Ya’ll!
