and really, now…
what kind of country am I marrying into? Safeway doesn’t carry Blueberry Muffin Mix? Or even those yummy canned wild blueberries to add to a mix I make from scratch?
what the bloody hell, man!?

The vacuum cleaner is THISCLOSE to being literally and physically tossed out the window to crash into the slimy green pool seven floors below. Thisclose. I’m not kidding.
I spent five hours today cleaning. We won’t be here, essentially, for the next five weekends running. I absolutely hate coming home after a lovely time to a dirty house. There will be clean-ups here and there, but I did a massive cleaning overhaul and I felt SO much better.
Everything was done, including using a handbrush and dustpan on the kitchen/hall floors and hand mopping. With a cloth. !!
Then I tried to vacuum.
It’s not a high tech machine, it only has one setting – SUCK. But instead of doing it’s [expletive deleted expletive deleted] job, the [expletive deleted] piece of [expletive deleted] decided it wanted to act like a cheap hooker and BLOW. All over my nice, clean, happy little floor. Except it didn’t just stay in one area. It actually blew all the way to the edges. Ridiculous, and i had to re-sweep.
I’m sincerely considering the pool.

Da Diva said we haven’t announced where we’ve registered. ‘Tis true, we haven’t. Mostly because we didn’t really register in Canada. We (mostly I, I suppose) decided we’d register at only two places – Dillards and Kohl’s – because my family in the states is really, really old-school. They wouldn’t have any idea about anything we’d like if we didn’t lay out a bit of a guideline.
On the other hand, we have a lot of very hip, very cool friends (read: our age-ish, not old fuddy-duddys (sorry mom and grandmommy, if you’re reading this!) or people who don’t shop for young couples much). We basically made the call that if people wanted to get us a gift, we would trust their lovely and thoughtful judgement.
And, we aren’t picky. And while I’m at it, we don’t expect gifts, so don’t feel obligated, but we’re not quite so insane that we’d turn them down. Dur.
also, Adrian suggests we admit we love Urban Barn. and MEC.
